Photo-rejuvenation is a treatment using pulsed laser light (Broad Band Light / Intense Pulsed Light) to improve the overall appearance and texture of your skin. It diminishes areas of redness or broken capillaries. Dark spots on your skin become lighter. Some fine lines may disappear.
These treatments work well on the face as well as the neck, upper back, upper forearms and hands. We recommend between 3 and 5 treatments at 3 to 4 week intervals. We will perform a 6th treatment if the sun damage is severe. These treatments are gentle with minimal down time. We first apply a cold gel to the treatment area. Each pulse of laser light feels like an elastic band hitting your skin. You may have some mild redness or flushing afterwards which normally disappears within a few hours.
It takes approximately 20 to 30 minutes to treat the entire face. Some medications may interfere with this treatment. We will review your medical history during your consultation. We do not recommend photo-rejuvenation for pregnant women. We are unable to treat your skin if you are overly tanned or if you have had prolonged sun exposure, without sunscreen, during the 4 weeks prior to your visit. It is better to be safe than sorry!
