Laser hair treatments are the best option for permanent hair removal. The laser light passes through the skin and is absorbed by the pigment (melanin) within each hair shaft. The hair follicle overheats, and the bulb and germinating centre are destroyed. The hair does not grow back.
We recommend at least 6 to 8 treatments. At each visit only a portion of your hair will be in the stage of its growth cycle where it can be destroyed by laser light energy. We therefore schedule your visits to correspond with this cycle and maximize the amount of hair that can be removed. Your sessions will generally be a few weeks to a few months apart. We work to give you the best results!
Hair needs to have a certain amount of pigment for laser hair removal. Less pigmented hair may require more than 8 treatments. Unfortunately, fair hair does not respond well to laser treatment and may require alternative therapies such as electrolysis or waxing.
Please avoid any sun exposure to those areas you wish treated for at least 4 weeks prior to your treatment. During the summer months laser hair removal is always possible, however we recommend treating those areas generally hidden from the sun, such as the underarms or bikini region.
